About Us
Michigan Cornhole,
Built Club by Club
The Michigan Cornhole Association (MCA) connects local Clubs, Directors, and players across the state through shared standards, fair competition, and a clear path to the MCA State Championship.
Who we are
MCA is a statewide cornhole association built on local Clubs. We exist to support and connect Clubs, not to run them. Clubs set their own schedules, venues, and entry fees. MCA provides the common framework that ties their events together: qualifying competition, membership, points, player classification, and State qualification.
For the 2027 Founding Season, that means players at any Club can compete for consistent points and standings, and every player has a clear route to State recognition.
Our Mission
To build a welcoming, well-run cornhole community in Michigan by supporting local Clubs, connecting neighboring communities, and giving players a fair, transparent way to compete.
Build | Connect | Compete
BUILD. Strong local Clubs are the foundation of everything we do. We help Directors host regular events and grow a welcoming player community.
CONNECT. Neighboring Clubs work together on District Singles, BYOP, and Blind Draw events. Hosting can rotate, and equipment, volunteers, and promotion can be shared, so no single Director carries the whole load.
COMPETE. Every qualifying event feeds a common points system. Players earn standings and can qualify for the MCA State Championship.
Our Values
Michigan Cornhole Association Players, Directors and Board members lead with honesty, fairness, accountability, and respect.
We announce payouts before play and make sure actual payouts match.
We report results accurately and correct errors promptly.
We apply published rules consistently, avoid favoritism, and disclose conflicts of interest.
We hear player concerns at the Club level first, then refer unresolved or statewide matters to the Board.
We rise above public disputes.
How the MCA Works
Clubs
Host regular local events. Club Directors announce the format, entry fees, and payouts before play, and report results accurately.
Districts
Bring neighboring Clubs together for shared events. District Coordinators help align calendars and find willing hosts.
State
The culminating event of the season. The MCA State Championship is targeted for mid-to-late June 2027, and the date and venue will be announced.
Fair competition by design. Players start in one of four tiers (CLUB, SELECT, PREMIER, or ELITE) based on their 120-day PPR. Each tier has its own District and State points table, so players are rewarded for how they perform at their own level. Anyone who wants a bigger challenge can play up. Our anti-sandbagging standards keep everyone competing at their true skill level.
Open to everyone. Nonmembers count toward field minimums, and eligible MCA members earn points when they compete in a qualifying field that includes nonmembers.
